Gastronomy under the spotlight for the month of July

Sharing and mastering the flavours of yesterday and tomorrow

Heritage Resorts invite you for a month that will be radiant, between tradition and innovation, an invitation to meet around the flavours of yesterday and tomorrow. For this month under the sign of gastronomy, Bel Ombre has the honour of welcoming two world-renowned Chefs, who are both fond of local and quality products, and who advocate sharing through flavours.

We will welcome Chef Christian Têtedoie certified ‘Green Star’ Michelin and Chef Eric Ticana, sushi master.

Eric Ticana is a French chef, ambassador of Japanese cuisine, through the ‘World Sushi Skills Institute’. This chef, driven by the love of his profession, participated in the ‘World Sushi Cup’ and was the first Frenchman to reach the semi-finals twice in 2016 and 2017.

Managing his own restaurant since 2019, the sushi master will be at Gin’ja on July 14 and at Château de Bel Ombre on July 16, to introduce you to his menu, focused on local and Japanese flavours, bitter, salty, spicy, sweet and sour: all with the distinctive Ticana touch. An event not to be missed on July 14 and 16, for afficionados or sushi lovers.

Chef Christian Têtedoie, at the head of Maison Têtedoie, will be the guest of honor of the first edition of the Sustainable Gastronomy Week at Heritage Resorts, from July 25 to 30. He has already started working with the Mauritian chefs present in our hotels to learn about local products and build a menu that is both innovative and tasty, combining local flavours and high gastronomy.

Chef Têtedoie was elected ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France’ of the year in 1996 and has been president of the ‘Maîtres Cuisinier de France’ since 2011. Having the sharing of knowledge at heart, Christian Têtedoie will do us the honour of leading workshops with our guests and our chefs during his stay in Mauritius, to discover his locavore approach and help Heritage Resorts to continue its journey in the world of sustainable gastronomy.
